The city of Shiraz, the capital of Fars Province in southwestern Iran, was one of the oldest cities of ancient Persia. Shiraz is known worldwide as a city of lush gardens, flowers and wine. The small villages and nomadic tribes surrounding the city have a large carpet weaving culture and tradition, with both nomadic hand-knotted carpets and hand-woven kilims being produced in the region.
The colors of this rug vary depending on which side it is viewed from. This means that the carpet has a light and a dark side because of the location of the pile. You can play with this visible effect and decide in advance where the light side of the carpet should be visible.
