Sirjan Suzani carpets come from the south of Iran. Sirjan is a kilim and carpet in one. Suzani (translated as "needle"), is a fabric embroidered and decorated with symbols of happiness, health, long life and fertility. DThe design and color of the original Suzani fabrics have now been transferred to the carpets by the weavers.
The carpets are made of Ghazni sheep wool and are naturally dyed. The natural fat content in the wool protects the carpet from wear and dirt.
The colors of this rug vary depending on which side it is viewed from. This means that the carpet has a light and a dark side because of the location of the pile. You can play with this visible effect and decide in advance where the light side of the carpet should be visible.
